Alto Catalog is an open-source music locker service that you host yourself. This is for those that prefer to maintain their music collections as MP3 files, and would like to store those MP3 files on cloud object storage like S3.

This is probably not for everyone, or maybe anyone other than myself. The big streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music have large collections and using them is very convenient.

But not everything is on these platforms. There may be MP3 files that you’ve bought ages ago or have ripped yourself. There might be music out there old enough that the proper rights holder is fully not known, and the only known copy is an MP3 file that is found on the Wayback Machine. Finally, there may be stuff that you’ve written yourself, and you’d like to keep an archive of them somewhere.
